Importance of Art in Facilitating Creativity
Art in early childhood enables children to reach their imaginations, sense, thoughts and feelings. Creativity is taught when the children draw, paint, sculpture or make a collage, then they learn to share ideas. Such activities also develop fine motor and they aid decision-making and confidence. Open-ended art encounter will allow children to experiment with the use of different colours, shapes, textures and materials. Teachers can promote the process of creating instead of paying attention to the final product. This allows children to experiment and be themselves as they formulate some crucial skills in creativity.
